Insane Ramblings

RAWRRRRR!!

Just felt like being random all of a sudden. Lol. It's 3am in the morn over here so please forgive the insanity.

Have been feeling a bit moody and uneasy these few days. And damn confused. Very, as some of you might know. Ich denke ich mag dich. Warum? Wie? (courtesy of pz lol) Ich bin gestresst. So yeah, another pointless post. Back to my *#!~$/ critical review due later today. Somebody save me! :'(

Little Miss Procrastinator

Scoob has this friend and my gosh, what a procrastinator she is! 4 freaking assignments and none down. Thus far, she has done everything but. Lazing, partying, chor tai ti-ing, facebooking, fan fictioning, blogging even. Just name it, she's probably done it. Amazing ain't it, how everything poses as such a distraction?

Only a few days ago, she discovered this movie called Drifting Flowers and spent the whole day obsessing after watching it. Googled, Yahooed, Limewired, and torrent searched for it's soundtrack to no avail and so decided to load the music from YouTube. Well, once in youtube, why not spend a bit of time watching other amusingly useless videos? Or maybe gush over some hot new talents? By then she'd have probably stumbled upon another exciting movie or drama series to watch and obsess over and the whole process starts again. A rather relaxing cycle I must say. But only if those assignments of hers were out of the way.

I do believe Mendol is her current obsession at the mo. One of its soundtracks, 3 seconds, has been on repeat for the past hour. But that's only because she couldn't find the other soundtracks. Pathetic ain't it?

And so, after wasting another day, desperate, she appealed for help. And help appeared in the form of this blog post. Warning all others about her folly while helping to ease her troubled mind. How that works I have no idea. It just kinda does. Now then, won't someone please shake and slap some sense into her? The more violent the better.

Of badly cut hair and uh.. hair

One word of warning, never, I repeat, never ever attempt to cut your own hair. And especially not using only one mirror, and definitely not while chatting on msn. The effects are sure to be disastrous! Trust me. Lol. And if you still decide to go ahead with it, make sure you have a cap handy! Or lots and lots of gel/wax to improvise on it.

I'm so wearing a cap for the next few weeks!

Pointless ramblings

Restless. So freaking restless.

Fingers are itching, body tensed from pent-up energy, knots happily bouncing about in the stomach. Unease courses through the veins, confusion through the arteries, both meeting at the heart, causing an unexplainable murmur? I think my facts are all wrong. Where are the doctors when you need one? Pharmacists? Biomeds? And biotechs that actually study? Lol.

There's this urge to blog. About what I don't know.

Anything.

Everything.

So many things to be said, so many that can't be said.

It's like treading on thin ice. Gotta becareful of it'll break and you'll fall. Fall into ice cold water. So cold that it first shocks you awake, then as you struggle about, overcomes you, saps your strength away, till relishing the numbness, you slowly surrender.

Confusing? Ought to be. I'm confused after all.

And thus, this absolutely pointless post. Don't mind me. Scoob will be back soon. Hopefully.

A short update from KL

Wk called today and said that his visa application status stated that it's ready for collection and asked me to check mine. So I did. And it was. We had just handed in our documents on Tues and voila, two days later, it's ready for collection. Is there such a thing as it being processed too quickly? Am a bit worried now lol... Well, I guess the only thing to do now is just pray and hope for the best. 

ps. Will blog the entire trip once I get home. Didn't bring my lappie down.

No updates for a while as I'll be heading down to KL today to make my visa and have fun with the girls ^_____^ It's weird tho'... I haven't even left home but I'm feeling a lil' homesick already. Wth is wrong with me la.. Lol. Maybe it's 'cause I just realized that I only have approx. 1 and a half months left. And part of me wants to cling tightly to home and not let go. Someone please shake me out of this ridiculous feeling!! ^^""

Now I know most people have already seen this hilarious rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Ken Lee” by Valentina Hasan during the Bulgarian Idol auditions. But how many actually knew that she was singing in an actual language? No seriously. There is a language that is spelled exactly the way it’s pronounced- Anglic. It was proposed in 1930 by a distinguished Swedish philologist, Professor R. E. Zachrisson, and received much influential support. A fund of $20,000 was even given to aid in spreading knowledge of it as well as promoting its acceptance. In memory of Nian Ning: Petition for safer bus rides

As a tribute to Nian Ning and the other two who died in the recent bus accident, there will be no story/art/personal updates for the next few weeks. Instead I'd like to focus on helping out the victims' families by spreading the news about the petition they set up. Please support it. Thank you.

Excerpt from Bus Crash No More, a site set up by Nian Ning's loved ones.

We, the concerned youths of Malaysia express appalled anger towards the Slim River Bus Crash incident that claimed the life of Lee Nian Ning, Mohd. Zailani and Pang Boon Eng on the 25^th of January 2008. This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred. Despite numerous complaints and public uproar in the past, incidents like this continue to occur. It was reported that the driver’s company had 13 summonses on that bus itself. We find it unacceptable that such a company could have operated that vehicle on the road.

What are the explanations?

Hundreds of thousands of university students just like Nian Ning and us rely on such public transport to travel back home. A human life should not be taken lightly.

How could a vehicle with 13 summonses be free on the roads and not be held by the authorities?

We, the following, hereby demand that the relevant authorities set up a committee consisting of road safety experts and representatives from relevant public bodies to conduct a thorough study to find effective solutions to ensure that mistakes like this do not occur again in the future.

We will not be quiet until we see it in the media that satisfactory measures have been taken.

RIP Nian Ning

Lee Nian Ning, a fellow Penangite, passed away in a tragic bus accident a few days ago. She was at the peak of her life, a bright shining future ahead of her but all of these were robbed away in just seconds. The bus she was in hit a divider and the MPV behind, unable to stop in time, crashed into the back of the bus (More info).

The bus driver was later on found to have 13 outstanding summonses dating back as far as 2000 and a witness told the Berita Harian that the driver was speeding while sending text messages just before the accident happened!

How the heck can anyone with so many summonses not have their driver's licence revoked? For such a looooong period of time too! Plus they had TWO warrants of arrest for him!! And what has our police force been doing all this time? Writing summonses for illegal parking in housing estates, university/college areas and coffee shop areas. Catching people for not wearing seatbelts. The list goes on.... I'm not saying that any of the above are right or that the police shouldn't be catching those people. All I'm saying is that instead, they ought to concentrate on catching repeated offenders for speeding, reckless driving and the like. And especially those who hold many lives in their hands each time they get behind the wheel.

Then there's the bus company- Konsortium. Shouldn't they have checked out their potential drivers before hiring them? And considering that their buses make several trips to and fro from various states in the country, shouldn't they make an effort to make sure the buses are in reasonable condition and not break down half-way through the journey? And couldn't they have at least apologized and send condolences to the families involved? Or did they think that if they just kept quiet, the whole fiasco would eventually die down and business would go back to normal-until the next accident at least.

Well, all I know is that Konsortium is now synonymous with Irresponsible and we're all boycotting them. There are so many other affordable buses out there- Plusliner for example.

I mean, who knows when the next accident might be?

I'm sure not gonna stick around and find out.
